JFDX SD40-2 8045 "John F. Dains" HLCX dedicated unit on Q439-27
Description:
First, a rear shot of JFDX SD40-2 8045 in the HLCX. Redbird Paint scheme as the trailing unit on Q439-27. This unit is indeed an HLCX unit, but is dedicated to the now retired CEO of Helm Financial, John F. Dains. When he retired, the company dedicated this unit to him by using his initials "JFD" in the reporting marks, and getting his signature on both sides of the unit! Anyways, 8045 started out in August of 1979 as BN 8045, the unit then became BNSF 8045, and then existed as HLCX 8045 before becoming JFDX 8045
